Associate Professor Leon Lai specializes in routine and complex surgeries involving brain tumours, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and tumours of the brainstem and skull base. As a leading authority in his field, Dr Lai is committed to advancing brain tumour, cerebrovascular, and skull base neurosurgery through active engagement in clinical and laboratory-based research.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Lai holds key leadership positions as the Director of Cerebrovascular and Lateral Skull Base Surgery and Deputy Director of the Department of Neurosurgery. A graduate of the prestigious University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and a Fellowship in Neurosurgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), his exceptional skills and dedication were further acknowledged with a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) for his research on brain aneurysms.

 

As an Academic Professor at Monash University's Department of Surgery, Dr. Lai contributes to the academic landscape and frequently lectures, showcasing his passion for academia.
