ABOUT THE APPOINTMENT

WHERE ARE YOUR CONSULTING ROOMS?

Associate Professor Lai consults privately from two locations:

  • Monash Specialist Centre, Clayton

  • St John of God, Berwick

DO YOU DO TELEHEALTH CONSULTATIONS?

Telehealth gives patients the ability to book a telephone consultation with Assoc. Professor Lai without meeting him face to face.
Telehealth consultations are available for some types of appointments.  Please talk to our clinic staff should you wish to inquire about this option.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Prior to arriving for your appointment please remember to obtain and bring the following:


  • Up to date imaging (such as MRI scans). If you are unable to obtain your imaging please call our office to facilitate this process. (Failure to bring images may require an additional appointment so that the doctor can properly assess your condition.)

  • Current referral from your GP or specialist. This is necessary for you to receive partial reimbursement from Medicare for the appointment.

  • Supporting documents, such as letters or reports from your local doctor or any other treating doctor

  • Any other test results you have which are related to your condition

  • Medicare, DVA, Private Health Insurance and Pension card as applicable.

  • A support person is always welcome.

WHAT PAYMENT FORMS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We ask for full payment at the time of your appointment and are happy to process the claim with Medicare for you. We are able to accept the following forms of payment; cash, eftpos, credit card. 
We do not accept American Express.

DO YOU SPEAK ANY OTHER LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH?

Associate Professor Lai speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese. 
You are also welcome to bring a family member or friend along to your appointment should you speak another language and need help with translation.
